EGLD
The native asset of the MultiversX network.
EGLD is used to pay transaction fees, to take part in staking through delegation, and to interact with applications on MultiversX.
Because EGLD pays for network activity, holding a small amount is what makes an account usable — sending, delegating and interacting all consume a fee. Understanding that role first makes the rest of the wallet straightforward.
Staking
Understand staking before you delegate.
Delegation assigns EGLD to a validator provider that helps secure the network. Review provider terms, rewards and timing rules before you proceed.
- Delegation. You keep ownership of your EGLD while assigning it to a provider that runs validator infrastructure.
- Validator providers. Providers differ in fees, capacity and operating history, so the choice is yours to research.
- Variable rewards. Rewards depend on network conditions and provider terms. They are never fixed and no rate is quoted on this site.
- Unstaking rules. Withdrawing is a process with a network-defined unbonding period, so review the timing before you delegate.
